So you think you have a shot for DAPA? Check if you meet all 7 criteria to be eligible for Deferred Action for Parental Accountability (DAPA).

If you are reading this blog, you probably have heard many things about DAPA. However, are you SURE that you are eligible for DAPA? Below are 7 criteria that you must show that you are eligible for DAPA.

DAPA applies to an individual who:

1. Is the parent of a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident as of November 20, 2014;

2. Continuously resided in the United States since before January 1, 2010 (NOT on or after 01/01/2010);

3. Was physically present in the United States on November 20, 2014;

4. Is physically present in the United States on the date that he/she submits the application

5. Had no lawful status on November 20, 2014;

6. Presents no other factors that would cause USCIS to deny the request in its exercise of discretion; and

7. Is not an DHS enforcement priority, defined as: people suspected of terrorism, gang associations, or significant visa abusers, recent unlawful border crossers; and people convicted of felonies, aggravated felonies, significant misdemeanors, or three or more misdemeanors.
